Anatomy Practical III Eye Fibrous Tunic- sclera and cornea (outer layer) Nervous Tunic- inner layer inc. retina Bulbar Conjunctiva- covers anterior white surface of eye Palpebral Conjunctiva- covers inner surface of eyelid- lubricates eye Lacrimal Canals- tears enter here to drain into nose Lacrimal Gland- produces tears Lacrimal Sac- drains tears Nasolacrimal duct- bottom portion of canal, drains tears into nose Eye Muscles: Inferior Oblique-Abducts (away from midline) Lateral Rectus- abducts Superior Oblique- abducts Inferior Rectus- Adducts (toward midline) Medial Rectus- adducts Superior Rectus- adducts Levator palpebral superioris- opens/closes upper eyelid Structure of eyeball: choroid- vascular layer assoc. w/ sclera, provides nourishment to retina ciliary body- shapes lens ciliary muscle- shapes lens ciliary process- produces aqueous humor cornea- permits light to enter eye iris- controls size of pupil ora serrata- junction in between retina and ciliary body
