Yuan 1 Leying Yuan Nathan Cayanan ESL 201 11/29/16 Success in an individual Once an individual is inclined into living life as if it was a marathon, there is an automatic effort to push oneself to the limit to achieve a goal. Although sometimes an individual could feel like giving up, since the marathon is far from over, the individual keeps pushing towards the intended goal. The book The Blind Side describes a young man’s road to glory. In the beginning of the book, it is evident that most of the teachers at School and people living within Tuohys' community felt extremely unreachable and uncomfortable with the main character Michael Oher since his appearance was intimidating. However, because of the talent, grit of himself, and support given by the white family, Michael successfully became a offensive player and finally made others realize that their judgment was wrong. To begin with, in the book, Michael Oher came across many obstacles in his life, but his perseverance and hunger for a better life finally overcomes these troubles. His struggles begun early in life when his father was thrown in prison, and his mother was a drug addict. Michael was withdrawn and shy, but these incidences in his life never pulled him down. Once Michael becomes part of Tuohy family, he faces many barriers in his path of success. Michael works extremely hard to complete whatever task given to him. Some could argue that Michael has the
