BORDERLINE PERSONALITY DISORDER 2 Borderline Personality Disorder This paper analyzes and summarizes data regarding one of the psychological disorders – the borderline personality disorder. It is written from the point of the ill person describing the family history, onset, impact of the disorder and personal perceptions. Family History If someone asked me to describe my family I would say it is a mess. Since I was a child my parents have always had fights and were not ashamed of dealing with each other’s issues in front of me. I would say that they didn’t think about the possibility of me getting an emotional child trauma by seeing them behave like that. My mother would cry a lot in the bathroom and father have always left our house to go to the bar to let the steam off. My childhood was full of screaming, shouting, and miserable memories. Therefore, I think I have emotional control issue thanks to my parents’ reluctant attitude towards my perception and lack of good parenting. I guess seeing my folks being so excited during fights made tolerant to this kind of behavioral patterns. I was growing up all by myself with my fears, emotions, and thoughts and when I hit puberty it was the worst time for me. I would say I grew up just like my parents – loud,
