Taurin Wheeler SPM 1014 4/29/08 Prof. Belfiore Adelphi University Adelphi University is a small private university located in Garden City, New York. The campus has more than 8,300 undergraduate and graduate students, so it’s a fairly small campus. Currently, the Facilities Management Department at Adelphi is involved in a project that deals with building a new Recreation and Sports Complex and a Performing Arts Center on campus. The project is expected to be finished by September 2008 and will be the new home of the Panthers. They started the project back in 2006, so it will have taken them only two years to finish the project. If it takes them only two years to build the new complex, it could spell problems down the road, like busted water- pipes or problems with the air conditioning. The current recreation center, Woodruff Hall is a very old facility that was built in 1929. It is home to the Adelphi basketball, swimming and volleyball teams as well as the offices of the Director of Athletics, the Trainer’s room, and the Equipment Room.
