1Chris Manzo Prof. Knapp Comp. 2 January 31, 2008 A visit of Charity by Eudora Welty is a story about a little girl named Marian who went to visit and old ladies home for points for some sort of girl scout group. I did not enjoy reading this story because I felt there was no point to it. The girl went to the home to get points for her campfire group and she was uncomfortable there. She felt out of place being with the old people. It is understandable to feel out of place when in that situation. She is a fourteen year old girl in a old peoples home where she is the youngest person there and the only sane one. I remember when I went to an old peoples home once because my grandmother was in it

Unformatted text preview: for a few weeks. I felt very awkward being there. It just felt like I was out of place and I should not have been there. There was many old people in wheelchairs and with walkers there. It was not something I wanted to see. I visited her every few days for the few weeks that she was there. I remember how I hated to go there and didn’t like to see anything there. I would not look around when I was there, I would look where I was walking and that was all. I feel the same when I am in a hospital, I don’t like to see the people on machines and tubes in or out of people. It is something that I just get disgusted by seeing and cannot stand to look at....
