Lauren ZuroOctober 31, 2016Chapman, B.Music and MathematicsTo me, there are many different aspects of music and mathematics. In real life, people don’t usually think about music having mathematics behind it or even mathematics being associated with any part of it. The readings that were assigned for this topic were very informative on music and how mathematics relates to it. I found the wikipedia article very interesting and informative. I liked the part where it said, “Elements of musicsuch as its form, rhythmand metre, the pitchesof its notesand the tempoof its pulsecan be related to the measurement of timeand frequency, offering ready analogiesin geometry.” This explains that the beat and tempo behind every note in music has something to do with mathematics. Every time a beat or note occurs, it’s counted as one and it goes from there. There are also a certain number of beats in each measure, depending on what the tempo of the song is. There can be multiple notes in each measure but there can also be one
