Chris Rock v. Larry the Cable Guy 1. The main issue – The issue, in this case, is whether the default judgment for payment of $500,000 from Larry the Cable to Chris Rock is reversed due to improper notification lawsuit against him? 2. Relevant legal concepts – Relevant legal concepts used in this case was substitute service which is notification of summons by certified mail and also leaving summons at the home of record. Also, Constructive Service, which is publishing the summons in a legal announcement, and also a complaint default, which is when a defendant has been notified properly but has not, replied promptly to the summons. 3. Relevant case law – Robert Johnson v. Cintas Corporation & United Healthcare. In this case, the Robert Johnson did not name the correct company being sued. Robert named Cinas No.2 in his complaint but instead named Cintas. Cintas No.2 was a subsidiary of Cintas, of which the courts did not have jurisdiction. 4.
