The criminal justice system is one that uses reports and research to gather its information. In this process, some terminologies and jargons are used to define and describe the information being presented in the area of research. The language of research is researchese According to Hagan (2009), Researchese is used for negotiating and understanding the latest literature in your field and is valuable as an international language (p16). After reading the chapter, one research shock is one the first term that comes to mind because this happens to me. Research shock is when a person that is not in the research field reads a research document; they have a sense of disorientation experienced by the reader because confronted with the new style of presentation in research language. In the field of research, seven terminologies must know concepts, operationalize, variables, dependent and independent variables, theories and hypotheses. These are just words to the untrained eye but to a researcher, these words mean the following. Concepts are the way that for the scientist to put the abstract tag into reality and then into categories. The concepts used in the criminal justice for research are as follows crime, religion, sex, and social class, defendant's appearance, age, police patrol, race, cynicism and risk on parole, intelligence. The second of words to know is operationalizing to define it for this writing operationalize established concepts by describing how they measured. Operationalize is the process of putting numerical values on an idea and converted abstract verbal entry to the measurable variable. The
