Logan Spring February 10, 2008 Love Thyself Professor Wegman Journal Entery #4 – Body Project HEP 112-01 I have begun to notice as I get older, that I can’t treat my body the same as I have in the past, and get away with it. When I was younger, what I ate and the exercise I did, affected my body and my life very little. But my metabolism can’t stay fast forever, nor can I count watching TV as burning calories any more. I find it ironic that I am taking a class which allows me to analyze every step I make, because for the first time in my life, my body is my project. Never before have I cared about my weight, my size, or my body type. When I read magazines, I’d flip to the pages of ‘most embarrassing moments’, the articles about how Mary J Blige got her start in the business, or the celebrity ‘who’s dating who’ section. I never spent time focusing on what is “in” and what is “so last season”. I had a habit of wearing what I liked, and because I have been more or less the same size since 8 th grade, my clothes only went out of style when they no longer fit, or had holes beyond repair.
