Drumline Pamphlet Alex Frieden Pd 8 Myeres/Neeley Topic: SCAHSMBDL Audience: Incoming freshmen and any and all other students who might want to join the drumline at State High Purpose: To educate the readers about the drumline and it’s various functions and its overall mentality. To persuade prospective drumline members to join the line by conveying the message: “we party together we practice together we perform together”. This credo is the way in which we practice play and have fun together. Tone: The tone is very informal but still professional. On the three outside panels the tone is straightforward and professional while the inside should still look professional but be read as though a senior member of the drumline is talking to you one-on-one, informing you about the drumline. The tone should also feel optimistic and proud, almost narcissistic. This tone, exemplified by the following, is necessary to make the reader want to be a part of the drumline. “We are the best part of the marching band” or “it has the most fun while still maintaining the highest expectations for visual and musical perfection.” The tone shifts in one part of the pamphlet to be even more done to earth.
