Socratic Seminar Final Exam (150 points) Due Date:_____________________________ A Socratic Seminar is a whole-class discussion regarding a text, and you are responsible for  starting this discussion. You must come prepared on the day of the discussion with six level- appropriate questions, referring to the characters, a passage, and a connection to the outside world.  These questions will help start the discussion, but you may also reflect on other issues related to  the text as they come up in the seminar. You will be graded on your preparation for the in-class  discussion, the depth of your thoughts and responses, and your ability to use textual evidence to  support your points in the discussion.  The Text(s):  Socratic Seminars texts are chosen for their richness in ideas, issues, values and their  ability to stimulate extended, thoughtful dialogue.  A good text raises important questions in the  participants' minds, questions for which there are no right or wrong answers.  For our Socratic  Seminar, we will be utilizing the following texts:    Of Mice and Men    The Catcher in the Rye Preparation for the Socratic Seminar : Throughout the semester, we have been prepping for the Socratic  Seminar. In covering three different texts and other supplementary material, we have  applied  literary  terms , identified  key concepts,  utilized  directive words, compared  and contrasted  ourselves to our  protagonists,  analyzed  difficult relationships in literature,  recognized  structural formats in compositions,  revised our writings,  reflected  on out readings, given  critiques  on the actions of our protagonists,  discussed our opinions,  designed
