Alan VanToai May 4, 2007 BMGT198f Community Service Reflection Eagle Scout Project – Summer 2003 Between high school community service requirements, programs at the University of Maryland, and my time with the Boy Scouts of America, I’ve participated in many community service projects. I’ve donated my time doing everything from volunteering at a local after school daycare, to categorizing non-perishable foods at a DC food bank. However the community service that has had the most profound impact on my life has been the Eagle Scout project that I planned and executed the summer before my sophomore year in high school. The rank of Eagle Scout is the Boy Scouts of America’s highest honor, and after years of involvement and achievements in the program the final task of any Boy Scout hoping to achieve the rank of Eagle Scout is to plan, organize and execute a community service project that will provide a significant contribution to a local organization or community. For my project, I planned to completely renovate an old local playground.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

I cannot even describe how much Course Hero helped me this summer. It’s truly become something I can always rely on and help me. In the end, I was not only able to survive summer classes, but I was able to thrive thanks to Course Hero.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
