Running Header: IT 286 Unit 9 Assignment 12Part 1QUESTION 1Reading through the book "the art of deception" written by Kelvin Mitnick and William Simon, alot of questions and thinking runs through my mind on computer security. Taking a deep look at the quote saying "the human factor is truly security's weakest link". For me, this quote simply notify individual, companies and security agencies that regardless of how strong or protected your computer or network security is with antivirus software and firewalls, humans who work with these devices are the hardest to control when it comes to security measures. Thus stating that, "the human factor is truly security’s weakest link". (Kevin, M. 2002). In order to strengthen this weak link of human factor, educating all employee against this weakest is one of the best key. Policies and standards must be publish for all employee to review and understand. Employee needs to be taught to emphasize what is important and how it will help them do their job. Creating a web page that is dedicated to security and social engineering attacks for employee could also be a good way to fight this weakness. This increase the need to be review on daily basis and keep employee updated. The best defense against social engineeringrequires that employees should be tested and that the bar of acceptance be raised regularly.
