Animals are becoming endangered and extinct from humans more than any other source. The three key factors that will be the leading cause of the Sixth Mass Extinction of animals are humans causes, effects and natural effects of nature. These three factors have caused an alarming rate of endangerment and extinction of species today.Humans are the first and foremost leading factor in extinction. They contribute in various ways to the endangerment and extinction of species. The main incentive for humans to kill animals is profit. Poaching an endangered species is mainly done in third world countries where money and food are hard to find without aid. Poaching is an easy opportunity for lower class communities to make more money in a short amount of time. In South Africa, 668 Rhinos were poached in 2012. Rhino parts became a delicacy sold for their use in Chinese medicine, the tough skin and as a trophy. Currently in 2015, the WWF ( World Wildlife Fund for Nature) in 2015 announcedthe Rhino not critically endangered; instead, they are considered “Near Threatened”. Rhinos live in Africa, Indonesia, Javan and China. In South Africa, the Trade Freedom in2015 went up 76.6% and the Business Freedom went down 73.0%. What does this mean for poaching? The first, to abide by the strenuouslaws of his country that impose high taxes and receive an insufficient income. The
Cantolino 2second option, is to utilize the free market trade system and ship out animal parts that will make him hundreds and thousands. This however, is a risky and illegal poaching business depending upon the country. The statistics of animal poaching in South Africa shows results of the men living in the area.
