1. What should you consider when organizing aviation environmental impact
meeting that occurs in a rural area and one that occurs in a metropolitan area?
Explain
how the purpose of the meeting, time allocated, and the content and format of the meeting
may vary.
The location of meetings is of great importance. According to convene (n. d.) where a
meeting is to be held is one of the most important considerations that must be addressed. Things
like, how accessible is the location to transportation, or is it near where the participant's work are
things that must be looked at.
In the text, Ferraro & Briody (2016), discuss that thins like the purpose of the meeting
can be different from not only the national culture but also the cooperate culture. Depending
upon the culture the reason for having a meeting can range from making decisions, to reach
consensus, or to present, discuss, and debate issues. When looking at the amount of time
allocated for meetings, things like some cultures like to keep meetings short and to the point
where others will spend many hours of the work week in meetings. Last, there are the content
and format of the meetings. Here in some organizations have their meeting formats
predetermined and a high value was placed on structure and order. In other formats, the meeting
is allowed to evolve and it is possible to add to the meeting agenda either prior to or during the
meeting. Then there are meetings in which the format is focused and direct to key issues that
needed to be resolved (p. 169).
