MGMT 324 6.4 - Discussion: Arbitration and Mediation Describe and explain how arbitration works and how it may benefit or hinder either side. Also explain mediation and the various types of alternative dispute resolution used in the airline industry. Give  examples and cite your sources. - Arbitration is the tie breaker when a contract cannot be decided and compromised upon  between the employer and union representative.  They both agree on the arbitrator to come  up with a decision if such an event were to happen, which can work for or against either  side.  It benefits both sides because they have agreed to decide on an arbitrator to come up  with a decision when they cannot decide on one.  It hinders them because the arbitrator may  make a decision that either side are not fully on board with.  In short, the arbitrator is "a  neutral third party [that] hears the positions of the parties and renders a decision [for] binding

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
