Chopra Problem 3.26 3. Accelerometers are a very common sensor for measuring the dynamic behavior of structures. Please provide a written description of the following three types of accelerometers: force balance accelerometers, piezoelectric accelerometers and MEMS capacitive accelerometers. For each accelerometer type, please provide a description of how the sensor works, maybe a figure (please cite the source of the figure if not self-generated) of its operation, and applications where it is used in civil engineering. A complete description might also include aspects of its use in the field including sensitivity, dynamic range, and frequency bandwidth. Please provide only ½ page for each sensor type (not including figures). Descriptions not citing their source (no web sources please) will be deducted points for incompleteness. 4.
