February 7 th 2008 NFSC 303 Family Food Project Eating food while I was at home with my parents is much different than how I approach eating on my own, in college. When I was at home, my mom would make sure I eat all my meals especially breakfast which is occasionally overlooked in Chico. Part of the reason for this is the fact that there are four guys in my house and food goes fast whether you want it to or not. I needed to be well nourished in high school because I played water polo five hours a day, two before school and three after. When I got home at night the family would sit down to dinner except if my dad was on a business trip, which was a lot. My parents are health nuts and they would make sure that I was eating correctly, because I used to be overweight. At the dinner table, the mood was generally calm every once in a while my sister would start a fight with someone, but that was the extent of the excitement. The dinner table was used to converse about that day’s activities. My mother was the chef and she used to make a myriad of
