HS101 Unit 4 Assignment 21.There are four types of advanced directives listed in you text. Please list and describe threeof them. The three types of advanced directives I chose were a living will, do not resuscitate, and the Uniform Anatomical Gift Act. A living will is a legal document that indicates where a patient decides where he or she wants to be on life support, if or when they are unable to communicate. Do not resuscitate is when a patient does not want doctors to perform extreme measures during cardiac arrest. Uniform Anatomical Gift Act is when a person 18 years or olderdonate their organ for transplantation after his or her death.2.Define curative and palliative care. Which type of care does the patient in this case study indicate that he would prefer?Curative care is any care given to cure or reduce a medical problem. Palliative care is helping the patient with reducing pain and suffering as the patient nears the end of his or her life. The patient wants palliative care, because he doesn’t believe in treatments.
