Discussion Board 4 Applied Managerial Marketing(MKTG630-1603B-02) Colorado technical University Online Campus Dr Perry Haan Presented by Commander Ezu 09/04/2016 Hey Michelle, Sequel to our conversation earlier about digital and traditional approaches in marketing, I’ve done some research and I wish to present to you the differences between these two approaches to marketing that way I can be in a better stead to properly explain to you why we should use any one of the two approaches in marketing MM’s new product. Traditional Marketing Approach: Traditional marketing approach has many facets to it which may include those tangible means or items like print ads in Newspapers and Magazines, business cards. Traditional marketing approach can also include commercials on TV and radio, posters brochures and billboards. Anything done to brand a product or logo and present same to the purchasing public with a view to calling their attention to our product except digital means is known as traditional. Another overlooked means of traditional means of marketing our product is when people find a particular business through a network or referral which leads to eventual building of rapport with them. Digital Approach: The world of digital marketing is evolving and will keep evolving as long as the advancement in technology continues. Examples of digital marketing include things like social media mentions (Facebook, twitter, Pinterest, etc.) websites, banner ads and YouTube videos. It’s worth mentioning that traditional and digital marketing are similar just that digital marketing makes the use of digital devices. However, digital is considered a form of inbound marketing and aims at directing people to finding you. Companies post content or ads out for individuals to find. People can do an organic search for your business or product online, a paid search, or by reading content that has been published online such as a blog or an article. The more people see you or your content online the more they get familiar with same. Advantages and disadvantages of traditional Marketing: Though I will accept that the use of digital approach is increasing, at the same time, throwing away or entirely doing away with traditional approach with the current marketing technique will be unsafe. Traditional methods of marketing have high success rate and proven to be reliable.
