Fill the graduated cylinder with exactly 10 mL c. Dry the outside and weigh the filled cylinder d. Determine the volume of the graduated cylinder by using the density of water e. Empty the cylinder and repeat. f. Average the two volumes 2. Determine the Density of An Unknown Metal a. Obtain an unknown and record its number b. Clean and dry the metal c. Place the metal in the cylinder and weight it to the 0.01 gram d. Now add water to 10mL e. Weigh again to 0.01 gram f. Clean, dry, and return the sample g.
