Scientist Problems at Los Alamos, Met Lab, Rad Lab, etc.: All the Time and with Most Everyone scientists are prima donnas. military people thought scientists caused lots of problems. didn't see military issues etc. the metlab had lots of issues, filled with left wing people who didn't want the military to be controlling it in the first place. part of the problem was that groves was against the colloquium at los alamos. Plutonium Problems at Hanford: Pu239 vs Pu240 the byproducts they didn't want ended up shutting down the machinery down. hanford looks like its going to deliver by the summer of 1945, thats why they initially wanted to build a plutonium bomb. oak ridge was the huge problem. D. Uranium Problems at Oak Ridge with Gaseous Diffusion & EM Separation: All the Time and with Everything oak ridge was built before everything happened. he had built the gaseous diffusion machinery first. when they begin putting the stuff in, the technology didn't work. the crucial point was the barriers for the enriched stream. em separation (lawrence designed it), they were making huge magnets. when they
