Surname 1 Name Instructor Course Date History Fiscal Conservatism and Brezhnev Doctrine Fiscal Conservatism is the economic philosophy in a political position that requires low levels of taxes, minimal government debts and less expenditure on the public. The Republicans developed the conservatism in the mid-1880s for economic purposes that helped them to achieve steady and reliable incomes. According to Parker, Levinson and Williams, 48, the fiscal conservatism is characterized by privatization, offering lower taxes, allowing free trade and economic deregulation. The conservatives of economic policy advocate for the general reduction of expenditure by the government through minimizing debts and ensuring that there is a balance in the budgetary allocation of resources in all sectors of the economy. These conservatives work towards ensuring that the government does not dwell and depend too much on debts to expand economically but should focus ion investment policies that will enable them to expand their territories using the existing resources. The Brezhnev Doctrine, on the other hand, is a Soviet foreign policy that was started in September 1968 by S.Kovalev. This foreign policy/doctrine was announced for the purpose of justifying the Czechoslovakia invasion that ended Prague Spring.
