GOAL SETTING 2 Definition of a goal and goal development A goal is an anticipated result that a given individual or organization plans and obliges to achieve within a specific time by setting deadlines. Goals are also the expected results that provide guidelines for a reaction or an end, which are either not concrete or physical objects whose values are intrinsic. Goals can be short-term, long-term or intermediate depending on the time needed to achieve them. Short-term goals are those that expect achievement within a short period and are defined concerning long-term goals. Long-term goals are those that are accomplished within an extended period while intermediate goals expect results of their plans within a medium time, which is defined concerning how long the short-term and long-term periods are.
