The above article is found on the website and it discusses the merits and demerits of Physician Assisted Suicide and whether the operation is right or wrong. The research topic is on the new law on Physician Assisted Suicide and the research question is whether the assisted suicide is right or wrong, based on human ethics. The above stated article aids in my research work as it provides the merits and demerits of the stated topic, giving an overview of what the opponents and proponents of the law think about the passing of the law in some states in USA. Therefore, based on my opinion, it is best if Physician Assisted Murder is legalized in several other states to assist, the terminally ill persons end their pain earlier to avoid much suffering. Secondly, Physician-assisted Suicide also minimizes the suffering of the family and friends of the terminally ill patients; thirdly, it prevents many patients from committing suicide in traumatic ways. Lastly, Physician-assisted Suicide (PAS) takes away the culpability of a terminally ill patient from being a burden to the family. The patients diagnosed with terminal illnesses are always subjected through a lot of pain that cannot be controlled even by the most strong pain relievers. Therefore, according to Andre and Velasquez (2), to minimize the trauma due to pain, suffering and deterioration, it is right and a compassionate way to relieve such patients of their suffering if they request for PAS.
