Surname 1 Name: Instructor: Course: Date: Cause and Effect of Science and Technology Despite the close relationship between science and technology, the two are distinct subjects and a field of history that examine human understanding. Science refers to the legitimate enterprise that builds and organizes knowledge and information giving explanations and predictions concerning the universe and nature. Technology, on the other hand, relates to techniques, processes and methods, which are used in the accomplishment of goals or production of goods and services. Therefore, scientific knowledge enables us to come up with new technologies that allow us to make new observations concerning the world (Khosrowpour, 143) However, changing technologies and scientific methods may be partly responsible for the several challenges that we face today. These problems include human dependence on technology such as the internet, cell phones, media, and computers among others arms. Other issues include the technical advancement of nuclear weapons, arms, and biochemical weapons; however, the major challenge is pollution. With the rapidly advancing world of technology and electronics, the turnover rates for upgrades are confounding. Wastes are not adequately disposed of as the manufacturing industries continue to emit toxic fumes into the air. The build up of these toxic wastes in the atmosphere lead to detrimental effects that if not controlled, it could result in climatic changes.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
