Surname 1 Name: Institution: Date: Course: THE AENEID REVIEW In the book Virgil the Aeneid the language and tone of Rome are clearly outlined in that the tone is depicted as being honorific and solemn. This comes by when the Virgil is trying to showcase the glory of Rome through the various narrations. The Virgil’s tone tends to vary in various scenarios in that when he depicts victims who have suffered at the mercies of history during the course of founding Rome such as DIDO the tone becomes sympathetic and tragic. The overall tone of the poem is dignified and serious since it depicts the struggles being undergone during the societal transition in Rome. The serious tone is maintained even in instances where Virgil try’s to describe the beauty of the Italian country side.
