Despite the legalization, the federal government has pronounced that if a given state is willing to pass a law that provides an authority for marijuana to be used for medical or recreational purposes, then they can do so under the circumstance that they put a system for regulation of Marijuana. Therefore, marijuana is listed as the number one under the Controlled Substance Act with a special classification under the law. The rule means that the substance is said to have no established medical use and have a possibility of being abuse (Burnham, 115). The claim has led to different opinions from both the opponents and proponents of the legalization. Proponents of Marijuana Legalization Legalized marijuana for recreational and medical use already exists in various states of the United States including Washington and Colorado. According to the promoters, marijuana has been effective in providing effective law enforcements and criminal justice by creating more room for the justice system, which allows the juries or public prosecutors to base more on violent crimes while the crowded prisons become freed from space. They also suggest that legalization of weed would boost incomes to fund new projects and also enhance the levels of revenues
