It is a fundamental social category, that related to all other social categoeiies, race, social class, and social stratification Definitions Gender: The ideology and social categories assigned with sexual dimorphism. Can there be more than two genders? George Herbert Mead’s theory of slf and the generalized other: the fully developed self is defined in relation to a community of people, and this is composed not just of individuals, but of social types (including gender types)
