I perceive the self differently than many individuals. Although people may agree with the meaning I have, many people will not. Individuals have different ideas of what the self is in that the self can be defined in thousands of ways and expressed in millions of ideas. What exactly is the “self” and how is it determined? If self is determined by the people we interact with, than is our “self” apart of them? I feel that self is about who we are, emotionally and physically. We grow and learn each day, becoming ourselves because we are supposed to. We as individuals are supposed to learn every day and take that knowledge with us to better us and our “self”. The more we know and the more we understand, the more we may be able to define ourselves. If we can interact with others and engage in conversations and feel comfortable with ourselves, then maybe we can provide the definition of self and be content with it. In order to create ourselves, we have been socialized through different factors.
