Drug Testing high school students has many positive outcomes. 1. Intro 1. 11.7% of 8 th graders admitted to smoking pot in the last year. 40% said it would be easy to get marijuana if they wanted it according to Drug Use in Middle School kids published by Teen Rehab Center in 2015. Before these kids have even reached high school they know how to obtain drugs easily and some are even smoking already. This is not only dangerous for themselves, but it is dangerous for the other kids in the school as well. This is why drug testing high school students has many positive outcomes for themselves, the families involved, and other children. This is something I know from personal experience and research. 2. Stock Issue One: Definition a. I would like to start by defining some terms I will be using. The first i. Drug testing and process – High schools test using a urine specimen, which is taken on school campus during the course of a school day. The testing of the students does adhere to federal procedures, and have a lab for validation to ensure correctness and integrity. The drug test can pick up a rang from 8-15 different kinds of drugs, including marijuana, steroids, heroine, cocaine, and prescription pain killers. 1.
