Under rule 1.6 of the ABA Model Rules, paralegals are to remain silent on when information about a case they are working on becomes public. Paralegals are bound by the same client- attorney privilege and confidentiality that lawyers are. Rule 1.6 states that “Fundamental principle in the client-lawyer relationship is that, in the absence of informed consent, the lawyer must not reveal information relating to the representation (Am.
