Francisca Zorrilla Eng-110 10/28/16 EFFECTS OF SOCIAL MEDIA ON YOUTHS TODAY Media is everywhere. It has became a part of everyday life. In the past newspaper was the most common of media. Today cell phones and other electronic devices have taken over all types and forms of communication. Teenagers today depend on media for information on everything; latest gadgets, fashion, trends, newest cars, best take out, and celebrity gossip. media controls the mids of teenagers. Most teenagers spend about two hours watching television and a half hour spent browsing the internet each day. many teens ususally spend sleepless nights on social media without the knowledge of their parents. The disruption of sleep has a numerous effect on teens. It has led to insomnia, mood swings, and increse obesity. Studies have shown that certain groups of teenagers are prone to violence because of social media influence. Watching too much television takes teenagers further away from school work and homeework crippling them acedemically. Teens who watch too much t.v are at a higher risk
