OVERVIEW OF LAB #10 I. Group 1 (half of the class) takes the lab practical II. Group 2 (rest of the class) will do the following: a. Using Figs. 1 and 2, fill out the questions regarding interpretation and statistical analyses of the figures; b. Using the computer worksheet tutorial and working in groups of 1-2 at a lab computer, produce a replica of Fig. 2. Do not print it out at this time; have your instructor check it out “on screen.” III. Group 2 now takes the practical and group 1 completes II. a-b IV. Measure and record plant height on your data sheets—have your TA check out the data for accuracy (esp regarding dosage) and then students enter data into section’s worksheet tab on Excel spreadsheet. TA keeps hardcopy of data sheet. V. TAs: check out data sheets for accuracy (measurements and assigned dosages) before students clean up their watering systems VI. Instructors address any questions regarding the second research paper. VII. Clean up instructions (complete in greenhouse): A. To keep potting soil off floor, place watering system in tray. B. Remove and discard all tape from styrofoam and from plastic “shoebox.” Pull all plants out of styrofoam quads and throw plants in trash. Gently tap to send most of the potting soil into the trash can.
