What significant issues of socioeconomic and cultural diversity exist in your school setting?
The significant issues of socioeconomic and cultural diversity in our school is evident in every
grade level. I work at a Title I school, where majority of our students are poverty stricken. It is
evident that poverty has affected all of our enrolled students. There are some students who
reside in a middle-class household, but the majority are suffering from a lack of income. Just
recently counselors discovered a great deal of our students are homeless.
What proactive strategies does your school employ to address any of these issues?
Our school’s counselors work directly with The Department of Human Resources and other
entities to retrieve resources to fund housing for our students. Example : Our counselors have
provided housing for a student who was living in a car with his mom. The school has also
