English 101 Revision Instructions
Purpose of Instructor Feedback and Revision
After the grade, you might feel like the writing process is over and you’re just “fixing” the
“errors” I point out, but that’s not true. My feedback isn’t just editing marks to help you put
commas in the right place. I want to
1) show you how a reader might react to your text and
2) demonstrate how your writing matches up with the expectations of the assignment.
Revising in response to feedback will be an important part of the learning process in all of your
classes.
Revision Resubmission Requirements
1. Submit an electronic copy of the revised essay on Canvas in the Essay 1 Revision
assignment dropbox
2. Make sure any inserted comments or my revisions are “accepted” or deleted; I want to be
looking at a clean copy with only highlights
3. Highlight all changes made in the revised copy using Word’s highlighter

Eligibility:
Everyone is eligible to revise if the essay was submitted on time and you
earned below an 80/100.
