DIABETES 2 Diabetes Type 2 diabetes is a very common disease; however, it can be preventable. Type 2 diabetes is a condition where the body does not produce enough insulin, or the body can actually resist the insulin. Insulin is produced by the pancreas. Insulin helps regulate the glucose in the blood. When a person develops type 2 diabetes, the glucose is not going through the bloodstream and into the cells; instead, the glucose is building up in the blood. When the body does not produce any insulin, then that person will have type 2 diabetes for life; however, there are a few ways type 2 diabetes can be prevented. I will be focusing on type 2 diabetes, for patients between the ages of 45 or older. Patients from the age of 45 years or older have a higher chance of getting diabetes, and for those who are obese and overweight (National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK), 2013). There is 28 percent of Americans who has diabetes that goes undiagnosed (Healthy People, 2017). Diabetes affect about 29.1 million people in the United States and is the 7 th leading cause of death (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), 2014). Before dealing with my patients with diabetes, I will assess, diagnose if possible, and plan. I will also implement the plan, and evaluate.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
