Negative and Positive criticism is what can shape the overall outcome for its love and
score. Many film reviewers criticize the film after its initial release and judge it based off its
strong and weak points which is why there is positive and negative criticism. Different films
receive different love based off of its criticism which in some films there explicit and implicit
meanings. As in Vertov’s film it “seeks both to praise and to criticize aspects of Soviet society a
decade after the Revolution” (Bordwell, Smith, & Thompson, 2020). Film criticism is the
analysis and evaluation of films and the film medium.
Negative criticism means voicing an objection to something, only with the purpose of
showing that it is wrong, false, mistaken, nonsensical, objectionable, or disreputable. In film
negative criticism can sometimes be good but also can be very bad depending on the situation.
