Paragraph One – Joseph II was a Holy Roman emperor 1765–1790. Joseph II instituted
a number of political, religious, and civil reforms. Joseph was a proponent of enlightened
absolutism. He tryed modernizing reforms but it was an ultimate failure. Joseph II rose to
power when his mother and father died. His father was emperor of the Holy Roman
Empire before him his mom was the ruler previous before him. Since, he was the eldest,
he was the one that got the rule of them.
