Bolles Science Department Honor Code Agreement
In order to ensure that our students understand the paramount importance of
honesty on all scientific endeavors, the Science Department asks all students read,
sign, and discuss the following Honor Code rules with their parents.
Any violation of the following is a violation of the Bolles Honor Code.
1. Falsifying, counterfeiting, or plagiarizing laboratory data is NEVER acceptable.
2. Data reported in lab reports is assumed to be the data that the students recorded
in the lab when the experiment was performed. If for some reason it is NOT, the
reason must be clearly and prominently stated in the lab report.
3. Students should not copy conclusions, graphs, or any interpretations of data
from their peers on any assignment. The fact that students may have been part
of the same group that did an experiment does NOT change this provision.
4. Homework answers should be completed entirely by the student on his or her
own. Students may discuss how to begin work they are having difficulty with
but should never copy someone’s answers, whether written or given verbally.
