Michael Green Hi 251 September 20, 2007 Martha Corey’s Testimony, 1692 Martha Corey was being prosecuted for witchcraft in 1692 bye Mr. Hathorne. He starts off by asking her over and over again why she was hurting children with witchcraft. She said that she wasn’t and he further pressed the issue asking her who did then. As she sat there some children said the a man was whispering in her ear. As the trial goes on she is asked to confess and for her sins to be forgiven by God. She says that she cannot confess because she has not sinned. Hathorne asks over and over again who hurts the people and she says she does not know. I find this article ridiculous because all the people were against her. Maybe she was practicing witchcraft but no one knows for sure. Seemingly every one in the room was against her and no one could say a good thing about Martha. Martha was said to do and say many things that could be made up and not provable. I believe she was convicted before she even spoke a word. While Martha was on trial children said that a man was whispering in her ear.
