Michael Green Hi 251 September 6 th , 2007 George Percy’s Observation on Jamestown’s Early Months, 1607 In “George Percy’s Observation on Jamestown’s Early Months”, he starts off by listing over twenty people how have died of various thing over the past month. In a small town over twenty deaths is an amazingly high number of fatalities. Can you imagine knowing everyone in the town and within a months time over twenty pasted on. Not only did these people die of illness like swelling, fluxes, fevers, and in battle but of starvation. Many might have lived or even had a fighting chance if they would have had proper nourishment to help keep their body going. the only thing they had to eat was barly sod which was put into water. Their water came from an unclean water souces that was salty and filled with smile and other unpleasant things. This caused many of the deaths it seems. The human body does need water this is very true but I believe that the water they were drinking often worsened their circumstances because of the salt content which
