Health ScienceRiver Bluff High SchoolMarch 18, 2021Dear Health Science Student and Parent(s):We are very fortunate to be able to offer Health Science courses at River Bluff High School.Our goal is toprovide the most comprehensive program to our students who are interested in pursuing careers in healthcare.We are pleased that we have many students who are interested in these courses.Unfortunately, due to thecourse experiences and simulation skills lab opportunities, we only accept a limited number of students inHealth Science–Clinical Honors.We hope this application process will be an educational experience for every student who applies for admissioninto this course.Each student must complete thetop portionof the application and submit this application andthe rubric attached no later thanMarch 29th by 3:45pm.There will be a folder on my desk, in Upper DCommons, for you to return the paperwork.These applications will be scored using the rubric (please do notwrite on the rubric/score section). The students with the highest scores will receive the recommendations toregister for the course.All other students will be ranked according to their final score and placed on a waitinglist.Students who take Health Science-Clinical Honors must have avalid South Carolina driver’s license andreliable transportation (in the event we are able to go out to medical facilities).There is a fee for the course(approximately $180) to cover uniforms, registration fees, curriculum and skills lab supplies. The student maybe required to have current TB tests (2-step method) and other immunizations, including Hepatitis B, MMR(Measles, Mumps, Rubella) and Varicella (2 doses of the Varicella vaccine or a positive serum titer). Localhospitals, medical offices, and clinics may require other vaccines in order to participate in their shadowing
