Unformatted text preview: Alexander Wang Concert Report The concert that I had attended was A Tchaikovsky Spectacular recital at the Rio Hondo Symphony. It was held at the Vic Lopez Auditorium at Whittier High School in Whittier California which is located at 12417 E. Philadelphia St., Whittier, CA 90601. The featured performers included soloist Esther Keel, composer Williametta Spencer, and conductor Wayne Reinecke, who is retiring at the end of the session. The beginning piece of the concert was a piece called Celebration for an Orchestra by Williametta Spencer. One interesting note is that each concert is opened up with this specific piece to celebrate the Rio Hondo Symphonys 75 th Diamond Jubilee. It featured a full orchestra along with many percussion sounds. The second piece was the Waltz from Eugene Onegin, by Piotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky whom was a Russian composer during the Romantic Era.
