Many researchers and medical departments have embarked on the search for treatment and diagnostic procedures that are aimed at eradicating the disease among the human population.Diabetes is one of the diseases that affect both the old and the young with some of the patients showing the symptoms of the disease at an early age (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 2014). The WHO classifies diabetes as among the many diseases that are associated with high morbidity and mortality rates in the world. The treatment of diabetes, however, has taken many forms in years past and the present. The application of A1C test is a blood test that is used to diagnose type 1 and 2 diabetes of patients and is used in gauging how a patient is managing his or her diabetes. Therefore, the discussion in the paper focuses on the procedure of the A1C test and the working of the test as a diagnostic method for diabetes. The ratings of the world effect of diabetes rates 24 million Americans as diabetic with thecosts directly and indirectly reflected on the government budgets. Consequently, the high amounts of prognostic implications have called for increased number of research work aimed at providing a solution to the epidemic status of diabetes in the world (International Expert Committee, 2009). The A1C test is a test that provides the physician with the blood sugar levels of a patient in the past three months.
