Norms
Within the team charter, there are team norms that uphold what is going to be the
standard and acceptable behaviors for group members, while at the same time outlining what is
considered inappropriate behavior in a team. The norms establish the baseline and agreement for
decisions making, attendance, assignments, and courtesies that will be extended to one another in
the group process.
The decision-making norms we will use our consensus, consultative, majority rule, and
voting in our decision-making process. Everyone is responsible for ensuring they understand the
options and arguments before deciding and be willing to support a team consensus even if you
initially disagree. Refrain from pushing your ideas on the team after making a decision. Instead,
acknowledge when you are playing “devil’s advocate” to help test a judgment or opinion.
