Step 2: Form a Hypothesis Hypothesis: A testable explanation for an observation. Hypothesis: “Mrs. Peck chewing food with her mouth open is preventing her from getting any lunch companions. (educated guess) *do an experiment

Step 3: Prediction Prediction: What you expect to happen if the hypothesis is correct. “If Peck chews with her mouth closed, then she will have lunch companions. **Predictions are written in “if ....... ,then ...... format.
