This might sound cliché, but this is me, this is why I am in this program to acquire theknowledge and skills required to help people in need: to be able to broaden their understandingon whatever is going on at the moment . From age twelve, I witnessed my sister and her husbandwho are medical practitioners care for various patients at their hospitals. Most of the times theyare understaffed, overwhelmed and I become terrified because I wish I could help in some kindof ways ,especially patients in a lot of pains ,looking at them without understanding exactly whatwas going on even though sometimes I might overhead some issues but I have no understandingof what it was and what lead to it .The patient also do not have the understanding of what wasgoing on intheir body. I still remember the relief I felt when my sister explained ulcer pain tome (esophageal, duodenal and gastric ulcer) that they are due to inflammation of the esophagus,duodenum and stomach respectively caused by acids in their parts of the body. I was able toexplain to my mum why the doctor diagnosed her for ulcer. I want to be able to professional bean answer to someone health issue. Becoming a nurse means having knowledge of the healthsituations of your patient and being able toeducate them about it.
