Unformatted text preview: Osama bin Laden and his team of fellow terrorists caused havoc in the shining star of the American landscape. The September 11 th attacks caused more uproar then a NRA assembly; more chaos than Mardi Gras in pre-Katrina New Orleans; more retribution than the mob family in HBOs TV series: Sopranos. These attacks were seen as a blow to Washington, literally, and congress felt as if a vendetta was necessary. Thus the Patriot Act was created, and with little struggle, became Bushs ride through the narrow confines of criticism. Every time Bush was censured about not doing enough, he whipped out the Patriot Act as if it were a shield that calmed detractors.
