0209 - DIETARY CLERK - Job Summary:
Category A – Employees not directly impacting patient care
FLSA: To be completed by Human Resources
Job Purpose:
Responsible for communications between the nursing units, dietitians and Food & Nutrition Services regarding patient menus,
diet changes and general patient services. Ensures that patient receive appropriate selections per diet prescription.
Supports the mission, vision, values and strategic goals of Methodist Health System.
Age Specific Care Considerations:
Adult: 18+ years – 35 years
Adult: 35+ years – 65 years
Adult: 65+ years
Children A: 18+ months – 3 years
Children B: 3+ years – 5 years
Children C: 5+ years – 12 years
Children D: 12+ years – 18 years
Infants: 0 – 18 months
Education:
Able to read, write and speak English
Able to follow oral/written instruction
Able to learn and apply proper lifting techniques
Able to learn and apply infection control guidelines
Able to learn and apply food safety/handling standards
Able to learn and apply knowledge of therapeutic diets and food consistency modifications
Able to learn and apply basic mathematic skills to convert weights and measures
Licenses and/or Certifications (Required and Preferred):
N/A
Related Work Experience and Other Skills:
6 months of food service and customer/patient interaction preferred
